A distinguished Hungarian economist and a civic leader, Attila Szalay-Berzeviczy is a former President of the Budapest Stock Exchange who currently serves as Chairman of the Board of the Budapest Olympics Foundation and a guest lecturer at the economics faculty of Mathias Corvinus Collegium. He is also the author of the two-volume history book "In the Centennial Footsteps of the Great War  – From Sarajevo to Versailles". For his public service, he was awarded the Knight’s Cross of the Hungarian Order of Merit.  

Educated in Kuwait and Istanbul, he holds degrees from the College of Modern Business Studies in finance, and Corvinus University of Budapest in international economics. With over 30 years of experience in investment banking, he has served in progressively senior roles with three major financial institutions including Budapest Bank in Hungary, UniCredit Group in Italy, and Raiffeisen Bank International in Austria.

As a former pentathlete and a former Co-President of the Hungarian Fencing Federation, Szalay-Berzeviczy carries forward the legacy of his great-great-grandfather, Dr. Albert Berzeviczy, founding President of the Hungarian Olympic Committee (1895-1904), by establishing the Budapest Olympics Movement in 2005 transformed into a foundation in 2013, a non-profit initiative backed by leading Hungarian corporations and business leaders, which he continues to lead. Szalay-Berzeviczy also served as an International Ambassador for Budapest's 2024 Olympic Bid and in January 2021 the Hungarian Olympic Committee appointed him to be a member of the Budapest Olympic Games Commission with the mandate to assess the feasibility of hosting the summer games after Brisbane 2032 and exploring the city’s bid.
